He'll forgive me anyway.

He'll forgive me anyway- The Devastating lie of marshmallow grace.
Author: Steve Halliday

The essence of the book.. basically, what the author wants to tell us is that we shouldn't push grace into a corner where God has never intended for it to go.
So, what does it mean to be a Christian?
  • Grace
  • God's Love
  • Jesus rising from the dead
  • and those who put their faith in Jesus are saved to live a new kind of life, completely different from those without any faith in Christ.

Why would you want to do the things that disappoint and anger him?

Stop treating salvation like a eternal fire insurance- a ticket out of hell but nothing more.

People who accept salvation that Jesus offers want more than anything to become like Him, including how they talk and behave.

Don't plan to sin and ask for forgiveness later on. As Matthew 5: 47-48 says " Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect"

Quit thinking that the love and the grace of God gives you the liberty to sin the way you want, without the fear of the consequences. Grace gives you the power to live for God, not the security to sin in safety. Grace gives you the desire and ability to live as Christ did.

Don't you dare drag my savior's name in the mud. ( I think it's a reminder to me too) People may not clap when they see you acting in faith, but they will respect you for it.

God saves you for a purpose- to become his soldier. In Latin, adding iani to a general's name indicates the soldiers who serve under him. Christiani - You are Christ's soldiers.

Lastly, there's no such thing as safe sin. Little things can kill, just like how pet sins can bite your head off. Sinning is just like attempting to kiss a hissing snake. you never know when it will bite. ( besides, i think we are rational enough not to go around kissing snakes, right?)

That's the essence i got from the book. I think it's pretty good, giving me a warning of what I have done and haven't done.

Let's fight this battle together=) all my salty people.. heh. With God leading us on. Cheerios!
